End of Insurance Period
December 10th was the end of insurance period for Corn and Soybeans. All other crops had prior end of insurance coverages. If you have any unharvested acres of any type of crop, please report them to your agent as soon as possible to ensure proper handling. It also marks the start of a 45-day window to report revenue losses on those crops as well. With both crops seeing a decline in price of roughly 13% it is very possible to not trigger a production loss and trigger a revenue loss.
Completing your production for the 2024 crop year within this timeline will assure you that you will be paid any indemnities due. It is very hard if not impossible to get claims paid past these deadlines. So please take the time to complete your production reports and have the office double-check them for losses.
You should have also received a text on the specialty crop market assistance package that has a short application window with FSA (Dec 10-Jan 8). I hate to assign homework over the holidays, but these two items should be given priority for your paperwork over the next few weeks.
Morgan is standing by to help you complete your FSA Application for the Specialty crops as well as the rest of the staff with any questions you may have.
Have a great Holiday Season!🎄
