If working with the FSA, honeybee producers are required to file an initial report of colony inventory by January 2nd of each year and report changes to inventory, including movement of colonies into or outside of the administrative county within 30 calendar days.

ELAP covers damage to hives and feed that was purchased or produced about normal quantities to sustain honeybees until additional feed becomes available. Losses of colonies must be more than normal mortality. Must be a direct loss such as colony collapse disorder, flood, wildfire, eligible drought, excessive rain, etc. For 2024 program losses, the application period will end Jan 30th, 2025.
