As harvest rolls on, we wanted to get out some significant news items from last week. The extension and expansion of WHIP+ for 2020 and 2021 was included in the continuing resolution that was signed into law last Thursday (Public Law 117-43). Along with Secretary Vilsack’s announcement of new programs which includes: the allocation of $3 billion in CCC funds for farm year ’21 to address drought, African swine flu, market disruption, and school nutrition. Also, a request for comments for the “Climate-Smart Agriculture Initiative” that USDA says will be rolled out near the end of year. These briefs should highlight the programs.

We are still working on prevent plant acres for 2020 to be included, which we are assured they are at this point, but currently do not have the formula to convey to you. We anticipate signup for WHIP to be rolled out and ready by the end of the year.

As always, we love to hear harvest updates from everyone – So if you have some time in the combine, give us a call!
