QUALITY:

Unfortunately, there are no discount factors for low protein.  But there is vomitoxin, scab, aflatoxins, and falling numbers. I have included the charts for Vomitoxin, Falling Numbers for Durum and Wheat as that is what is showing up most common this year.

For example, if you harvest 50 bu wheat with 5.5ppm vomitoxin your net bu would be

50bu X .45 = 22.5bu

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR QUALITY LOSS’S REPORTED WITH-IN 15 DAYS OF HARVEST AND ADJUSTER SAMPLED WITH-IN 60 DAYS.  YOUR WHEAT CANNOT BE SOLD TO RECEIVE THE DISCOUNT FACTORS.  IF YOU HAVE SOLD WHEAT WITH VOMITOXIN THAN THE ADJUSTMENT WILL USE A REDUCTION IN VALUE VS DISCOUNT FACTORS.

 

Adjustors will need all your wheat harvest in order to work any claims, once you have completed harvest, please take the time to fill out your production reports (included with your insurance binder) to evaluate any potential losses.
